What is the revelation we should have about the father?
• The revelation that He is our Father
• The revelation that He loves us
• The revelation that we are his children
What are the effects of knowing the revelation of the Father?
1. Our identity as sons and daughters is affirmed
When we receive our identity, the spirit of competition begins to die within us; We no longer envy other's success, nor do we care if men take us into account or not.
A. When we do not have this revelation we become slaves to fear –
Romans 8:15-16
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
B. When we receive the revelation of our Father's love for us, all kinds of fear are removed – 1John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. (tawr-ment) But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
2. The revelation of God's fatherhood leads us to develop an intimate relationship with the Father - Psalm 25:14
The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,And He will show them His covenant.
3. The revelation of the Father leads us to be true worshipers John 4:23
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

People search for titles due to lack of identity
Matthew 23:8-10
But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher,the Christ, and you are all brethren. 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.
• Do not seek titles or position but seek to serve
• Titles made the Pharisees proud
Ephesians 4:11
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

To Titus, a true son in our common faith:Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
1 Corinthians 4:14-15
I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
Begotten means two things:
• I made you
• I formed you
Society does not like discipline. And the Father brings discipline.
Hebrews 12:5-8
And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening (chey-suhning)of the Lord,Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens,(chey-suhns)And scourges (skurj)every son whom He receives.” 7 Ifyou endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate (il-i-jit-uh-mit) and not sons.

People without a home in poverty, in prison. in drugs, corruption, and violence.

63% of young people who commit suicide come from fatherless homes.
Almost 80% of inmates in our prisons have being in foster care.
56% of young ladies who have gone through foster care are mothers at age 21.
Every man is assigned to duplicate the Fatherhood of God.
What is the role of the father?
Luke 3:21-22
When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
• Jesus was being affirmed and validated (val-i-deyt) as a son by His Father
• What paternity does is affirm us and gives us identity
• When you know your identity, you have territory
• There is a natural genealogy and a spiritual genealogy
• Paternity gives you inheritance, it makes you feel like an owner.
• As a child you have rights and privileges
There are levels of relationship:
1. A relationship of being associated with the father
2. A disciple relationship
3. A son/daughter relationship
• The son says this is my house I will help - I will support my father
• Paternity is established through a relationship
• If you do not see God as your Father, you will not honor Him
• Without paternity you will not have identity
Ephesians 6:1-3
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
BENEFITS OF HONOR
1. The benefit of honor is favor
2. Favor changes your level
3. Favor causes your season to extend
• The highest expression of honor is giving
• Unbelief is evidence of dishonor.
• When jealousy and envy enter your heart, it discourages God from honoring you
4. Honor brings integrity
5. Honor brings you honor
• Honor is up, to the sides and down
• Everyone in the kingdom should receive and give honor.
