Jesus Is Coming Soon: The Signs

Haggai 2:6-9

6 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. 8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. 9 ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

 

Luke 21:25-26

25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

 

What is a sign?

  • Signs point to the destination where you are going. It is an indicator of when we will get there.
  • A sign is a visible manifestation that points to something
  • Show signs
  • All shaking is connected to the Glory of God, to judgment and the end time signs.

Matthew 24:1-3

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

 

  • The Temple was destroyed 70 years later

 These signs are in Matthew, Luke, Daniel, and Revelation:

 

 

  1. Deception
  2. False prophets
  3. War and rumors \ ˈrü-mər/ of war
  4. Nation against nation
  5. Famines \ ˈfa-mən/
  6. Pestilences or plague
  7. Earthquakes
  8. Persecutions
  9. Offenses
  10. Lawlessness and rebellion
  11. Riots
  12. Love grows cold
  13. Fear
  14. Perplexities
  15. Shortening of time
  16. Shaking
  17. Apostasy
  18. Increased knowledge
  19. The reborn of Israel
  20. The preaching of the gospel
  21. In the last 50 years all these signs have been fulfilled
  22. We see an intensity - frequency  \ ˈfrē-kwən(t)-sē/- and how unusual they are

Biblical prophecy is written to three kinds of people:

  1. To Israel
  2. The Church
  3. The World

When will these things be?

  • At this very moment we are in the end times

What will be the sign of your coming?

  • The preaching of the gospel

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

 

  • The Rapture is for the church - The coming is for the world

Matthew 24:4-8-11,24

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

 

Pandemic: contagious diseases

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

  • Deception is a perversion of the truth
  • Famine \ ˈfa-mən/ is the misuse of resources
  • Recession is orchestrated by man
  • Now a days we have fruits without seeds and if there is no seed there is no reproduction
  • The antichrist has no seed

Galatians 3:1

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

 

• Galatians 3:1 deceived by ways of magic.

Matthew 7:20

Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

 

Isaiah 5:14 – Volcanoes \ väl-ˈkā-(ˌ)nō

Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself And opened its mouth beyond measure; Their glory and their multitude and their pomp, \ ˈpämp/And he who is jubilant, shall descend into it.

Luke 21:26 – Fear

men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

 

  • The language of the world is fear

Job 3:25 – Do not speak fear

For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.

 

Daniel 12:4 - Increase in Science

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

 

Matthew 24:22

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

 

Matthew 24:37-38

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

 

Luke 21:29-32 – Israel

29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, /bud·​ding/ you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.

 

  • The “generation” are those who will be alive during that time
  • Israel was born in 1948
  • Jerusalem its capital in 1967
